A
BUSY YEAR
MANGIA! MANGIA!!
Food: Luxury or Necessity? |

My years in Kansas City taught me to love saucy BBQ and red creme
soda. Granted, it wasn't a hard lesson to learn. |
As much as I revel in the foods that I eat, I admittedly don't eat as
much as I should. A big part of that is simple economics, food
costs money, but sometimes, my body just doesn't scream out to be fed
enough. At Cafe Mundi a couple weeks ago, I was talking with Chris
and Jen and admitted some days I just forget to eat. Jen, a young
painter fresh from school filled with idealistic dreams of making it and
still familiar with a certain lifestyle provided by the warm confines of
her parents' home, nearly fell out of her chair when I stated that fact.
Chris wrote about it on his website, and cheerfully recounted how he
forgot to eat cookies one day, then ended up eating an entire bag and
getting sick. It was woefully reminiscent of the day I ate an
entire box of Boo Berry Cereal, only to be sidelined for hours with a
sore stomach.
Besides my ongoing quest for great hot dogs, I've compiled a few of the
tastier tidbits that have popped up on this website in the past year.
Food is a privilege, so make the most of it.
