This website documents the art, life and times of Michael Schliefke, a painter currently residing in Austin, Texas. It began on a whim in January, 2003.
Over the years, the website has grown, documenting studio life, poverty, art shows, trips around the country and the mundane: from eating hot dogs and bowls of cereal to complaining about society's woes.

The website is broken up into different sections:

ART DEPARTMENT: Where all the artwork, studio updates and information about past and future shows resides.

TRAVEL DESK: The place where detailed recounts of past trips, focusing on the folks, locations and food of the locales that made an impression. These are directly related to the initial use of the internet - email trip reports home from various trips to Europe.

THE INK WELL: All the little stories I've written in the past four years. Expect this section to grow tremendously with some ambitious projects in 2007.

STORE: The place to help keep all of this going: buy paintings, drawings, stretchers, t-shirts and sign up for painting classes.
