The online chronicles of a painter living in Austin, Texas

This poor, miserable fat American was so disgusted with the heat the only thing he could do was chat on his cell phone and furioously swat at bugs.

AUSTIN CITY LIMITS MUSIC FESTIVAL 2005
HEAT, MUSIC, AND MORE HEAT
September 24-25, 2005 - It was the hottest three days of the entire year.  With three days where the heat hovered near 107 degrees, Zilker Park was transformed into a dusty bowl of sweaty people and a ton of bands.  As much as that all sounds, it turns out the three day music festival isn't all that bad.

I wasn't supposed to go, and had no plans to really attend besides making a spirited run or two across town on my bike to catch a couple bands from outside the chain link fences.  I got an email from my friend Andy, who invited me out to Friday's sold out Arcade Fire show at Stubb's and then ended up with an extra wristband for the rest of the weekend.

And after a few hours of relaxing at Casino El Camino, running into some good friends and enjoying the company of the bar, I met up with the intrepid folks heading up the way to see the most impressive band out there today: The Arcade Fire
