SXSW 2006 SOCO DAY PARTY March 17, 2006 - It was St. Patrick's Day, and Liz was decked out in green and pigtails, with a spry spring in her step. Chris and Liz explained their three children were tucked away with grandparents throughout Austin.
We started our annual trip trough the South Congress day parties at Home Slice, and Chris dryly explained to me the influence the first Lone Star would have on his wife. Giggly, and more than amusing, I took it on as my personal mission to keep Liz well heeled with free beer.
We met up with Paul and may, and Paul was carrying his new child West around in a camouflage baby carrier. I was forced to drink harder and faster as Liz and Amy conspired against me to discuss the more personal matters of raising a child that only mothers should ever hear.
So we hung out and chatted and drank beer until we were cut off, then did some hipster shopping before Chris and Liz dropped me off downtown for a quick nightcap at Casino and Beerland.
Postscript: I fell to temptation and ate some Nutella before we left South Congress. The jars were ridiculously overpriced but the single servings came with a nice plastic flat scoop stick. | |
