SXSW 2006 VICE PARTY March 18-19, 2006 - After two long nights of parties, there was a crackle in the air for the big event of the week - Vice Magazine's Kill Texas After Party. With a lineup of loud bands that I paid absolutely no attention to, I helped keep things in check and my
liver well oiled.
Sparks, the fruity, caffeinated malt liquor, was the drink du jour, along with PBR, ye olde hipster staple. I treaded dangerously downing more than a handle of the toxic orange malt, speeding up my system and wrecking havoc with sense of time and space.
The party was insane - people actually tried to sneak in by climbing onto the roof - and it was at true capacity. The bands were loud, and the hordes of drunk hipsters descended on the triceratops sculpture set up in the outside courtyard. At 11:30, the first drunk girl jumped aboard, and her drunk friend told her she couldn't get her and the rhino in the frame together. The rest of the night lived up to its billing... |
 Words can't do justice.
