IF YOU WERE BORN BETWEEN 1947 and 1964...
YOU MUST BE A BABY BOOMER IF...
May 25, 2005 - If you even vaguely think George W. Bush has been even slightly good in any way for this little country of ours, you must be a Baby Boomer. 

Sure, the sixties ended on December 31, 1969, some happy music documentaries would say the innocence was lost at Altamont when a bunch of Hell's Angels went ballistic on some hippies trying to enjoy a Rolling Stones show. 

But really, all it took was less than twenty years for the peace and love generation that would change the world to soak up the Gordon Gekko philosophy of life and decide greed is good, oil is cheap, and wars are worth waging, as long as there is a Hollywood Cowboy in the Oval Office and America's best interests can be protected at all costs. 

Well, news to you, all you ex-hippies and Forest Gump-like children of the sixties - your revolution is over, and you didn't lose, you simply gave up and decided that your own best interests were the only thing worth fighting for. Well, simply put, you all suck.  Read that last line again, your entire generation sucks.  You are worthless and hollow, driving around in giant SUVs and Lexi (the plural of Lexus), eating McDonalds, getting fat, and voting Republicans into office so you can get a decent tax break on your 401K and other long term investments. 

Never mind your children or your children's children, which now have been plunged into a ceaseless 1984-like war on terror that will soon  reincorporate the draft and make sure every child in America has to serve time in the armed forces.  This does not even touch upon the tremendous load of debt that will further erode our educational and social structure for generations to come.  So much for the greatest democracy on earth, the one worth fighting for, thank you so very fucking much. 

Each vote you cast for personal responsibility, the higher moral ground, and the sanctity of the United States will threaten every single child currently living and born in the United States, even all those precious little souls that you are so fervently saving from religious hell by protecting from abortions. 

If you voted or have ever supported George W. Bush and his list of corporate insiders, oil magnates, and weapon barons, you've ensured a perilous future for your offspring, their offspring, and their offsprings, starting a ceaseless war between cultures and religions, and for proof, just look at the endless battles between America's favorite ally, Israel, and their deepest foes, the Palestinians, you just might be a Baby Boomer. 

If you are dumb enough to think America's foreign policy of sucking up to Israel and pretending their eye for an eye policy of retaliation, murder, harassment and assassination against the Palestinians was not a precursor to the attacks that happened a couple years back on American soil are not connected, you are a complete Baby Boomer.

If you believe the war in Iraq was justified in any way through a connection to the attacks a couple years ago in any other way besides the majority of Iraqis being Muslim and the moral right of America flexing its moral might against all infidels who do not accept Christian 'Love Thy Neighbor' teachings as the ultimate word of God, then you are an absolute Baby Boomer. 

If you believe because you signed a petition in 1967 against the Vietnam War and now believe America has the ultimate authority to invade and occupy a sovereign foreign nation, you must be a Baby Boomer.

If you believe for an instant that the abuses in the prison in Baghdad are any way different that the abuses meted out to American prisoners, you perchance may be a Baby Boomer. 

If you honestly think that America can start a war against a nation without the blessing of the world body of governments, and then decide to try to welcome the world's nations into the hornet's nest that you single handily created, then you most likely are a Baby Boomer.

If you burnt a draft card, were saddened by loss of young life overseas, and were tired of friends, loved ones, and other members of your generation dying face down in the muck only to let future generations to die face down in the sand for precious oil for your gas guzzling and oh so fucking trendy SUV - even worse - fucking Hummer - then maybe you are a little Baby Boomer all grown up.

So please, in closing, before I get arrested by the Secret Service and am jailed without a warrant or just cause under your little Republican's USA PATRIOT act, please just go to bed with your little Hollywood induced Forest Gump bright and cheery image of yourself dancing in your head, read the local paper, watch Fox News, and don't try to educate yourself past talk radio and blame everything on the foreigners flooding this country's borders.  You are a Baby Boomer, you are without blame, and I should have already forgiven you.  After all, you affected so much wonderful change in the sixties that has made this world such a better place to live since your generation was handed the keys to the kingdom.  God bless you all.
