The online chronicles of a painter living in Austin, Texas

CHOOSE YOUR OWN DECOR!!
PICK THE BEST BATHROOM DESIGN

June 13, 2004 - Now is your opportunity to choose the bathroom design that Myra and Michael will paint on their newly finished bathroom walls.  The bathroom is simple, basically an 8' x 8' box with a toilet and sink facing the wall opposite the entrance.  Currently, the walls and ceiling are painted a light sky blue.  So please, take some time, look over these five choices, and vote - remember, there's no electoral college or chads to bother with, so YOUR VOTE COUNTS!!!

June 26, 2004 - With the voting ended after a mind numbing 112 votes were tallied, the winning design is listed below, but here were the five finalists once again:

1
Design Number One
White Bubbles

Sweet Effervescence

2
Design Number Two
Wavy Lines

What Makes an Ocean Wave Wave?

3
Design Number Three
Colored Bubbles

Candy Bubbles

4
Design Number Four
Mod Ovals

Mod Visions

5
Design Number Five
Mod Squares

Is It Really Hip to be Square?

AND THE WINNING DESIGN IS:

WAVY LINES

It was a close vote, with Myra's personal hopes of mod ovals just falling short, unable to beat out the infectious momentum of the wavy lines.  There was also some controversy about the bubble vote being split (and once it was pointed out, even split between white and colored - yikes!).  Conspiracy theorists were quick to point out that perhaps Schliefkevision was using this vote to inform voters about the dangers and pratfalls of splitting votes between candidates, allowing another design to win the vote because the bubble people couldn't choose one candidate.  Schliefkevision cannot comment officially on this matter, but would also like to apologize for all those people whose votes were accidentally cast for Pat Buchanan.

Expect pictures of the completed wavy lines design in a matter of weeks.

Thanks for your votes and interest in this project.
