HAPPY HALLOWEEN
AN OLD, CREAKY STORY
October 31, 2006 - I've meant to post this story on numerous occasions over the past couple of years, but figured Halloween is as good a time as any to post it.  It's from the old, old Schliefkevision archives - originally written when I was eight years old and in third grade.

So without any further ado, here's the story I wrote, enjoy:

A Spooky Story

The full moon was shining down on the dark, old house.  It's creaky gate, torn fence, and broken windows make it look like a ghostly home.  The dark building was sagging, and the aged roof has several small holes in it.

Through the dusty windows, you could see spooky furniture and torn curtains.  In one burnt corner. a tarantula spider had built a huge, old web.  There were rags on the carpets on the floor, and a dusty lampshade covered a broken light bulb.  Victim's napkins that remained at places around a round, clean table.  Dusted chairs were pushed out as if someone sat there after a good meal.

Suddenly a warm breeze rustled through the large room.  Ghostly noises came from the moving curtains.  The spider's web swayed, and the loose hinges on the shutters creaked and groaned.  A sudden flash of lightning lit up the strange room.  Thunder followed, causing the shdowy house to quiver.  A bolt of lightning screeched through the night, hit the house and set it on fire.  The red flames illuminated the abandoned countryside for miles around.  In a second the house burned to the ground.
