SCHLIEFKEVISION.COM SOLD TO GERMAN INVESTORS
April 1, 2004: Investors from Munich's
Altes Hackhaus
have bought out the rights to SCHLIEFKEVISION.com and will use this site
to sell their handcrafted Bavarian pretzels and beer. "We needed
an online presence, and looked through our familial archives to find a
fitting name that was traditional yet 'forward thinking' for the new
generation of Germans living in the Fatherland and abroad."
Michael Schliefke, who founded
SCHLIEFKEVISION in January of 2003, was quoted in the Altes Hackhaus
press release as saying, "I'm sad to see my little website go, but
they'll be other projects for me to work on, besides, with the dollar as
low as it is these days, those 50 euro that I got for my site will buy
lunch for a week!"
Ihre
Wirtsleute Jutta, the wife of the owner of Altes Hackhaus, said they
originally intended to purchase
SCHLIEFKE.COM, but some plumbers from Berlin were unwilling to part
with their little domain name. Mrs. Jutta also expects a full
selection of pretzels and beer will be available online by Monday, April
5.
