SCHLIEFKEVISION IN KANSAS:

At one point or another, a lot of people's paths have crossed Kansas.

FAMILY LIFE
August 11, 2004 - It's funny what a few years can do to one's perspective.  When I was in school in the mid nineties, my friends and I scoffed at the mass exodus of white people from Kansas City to the safety and pristine surroundings of the white suburbs exploding in population on the Kansas side of town.  Seven years (yikes!) removed from school, and suddenly, all my friends have followed suit.  Not that I necessarily blame them, but it just seems odd.  Of course, with responsibilities ranging from jobs and children, it makes sense to want to have nice roads, quiet, and good schools.

With that, I spent more time in Kansas than I have in a long time.  But what a time it was - the last time I visited my little 'godchild' Evelyn Ursula - was a mere five days old and no bigger than a take home portion of Arthur Bryant's BBQ.  Now thirteen full months old with an assortment of dirty looks that brings a smile to anyone's face, it was an amazing transformation to see.
