A MIDWESTERN ADVENTURE

October 11, 2005 - Here are some random pictures I had left over
from Kansas City. I also didn't make good on my promise at the
start of the trip to fill a 1 GB card (6,000 medium sized pictures)
with shots from downtown, although I will make a surprise trip to
Kansas City one day just to do that.

VIEWS FROM LIBERTY MEMORIAL
In all my years of living in and visiting Kansas City, I had never
been to the top of Liberty Memorial, the gigantic concrete phallus
in the sky that was built to celebrate the war that ended all wars.
Of course, it was closed and nearly condemned for a number of years,
but since being rebuilt it houses one of the best, most interesting
and downright fascinating collection of memorabilia, stories,
artifacts and paintings from WWI.
