I'm a firm believer in synchronicity. Whenever odd little coincidences line up one by one until a pile is formed at your feet that you'll invariably trip over, I think its a sign that all is well in the universe and for a fleeting moment, you're lockstep with fate, luck and the stars. |
 | ALEX TREBECK
While on my innocent run through the toy section of Target, Gen swung on by to check in on us. We perused the board game aisle, and came across an at home version of Jeopardy, and on the cover a clean shaven Alex Trebeck stared back at us. The man looked odd without his trademark moustache, and we talked about it before the conversation lost its luster for the little E. She then stormed up her favorite aisle and took the opportunity to pine for her favorite toys. The conversation about Alex Trebeck's facial hair
was getting a bit boring anyway, so there was no love lost.
Little did we know this little moment would set a course of random events in action that really wouldn't affect our lives in any way besides being able to say, 'hey, that was pretty weird.' |

Filled with overtly feminine sexual imagery, all the special lighting and computer affects the mid seventies could provide this dusty gem was a treasure trove of laughs. The sounds effects, coupled with the sliding
doors and genuinely odd contestants, the powers that keep the world spinning randomly revealed this previously unknown game show to us.
Watch a clip from that very show and come along for the ride. Normally, that would be enough of a coincidence to diligently report on at a later date. But this story doesn't end on that note. |

It was a couple days later when the entire series of events fell into place. Gen and I took the kids to Johnson County's foremost art museum, the newly built Nerman Museum on the JCCC campus. While we circumnavigated our way through the great collection, we soon found ourselves beside each other as the logo from Double Dare, the random show featuring Alex Trebeck we watched the night before, appeared as the centerpiece of this tremendous drawing that graced the walls:
