PORTLAND, MAINE

February, 2008 - I prepared for my trip up north by buying an oversized mustard colored hoodie that I could wear my other hoodies and long sleeve shirts underneath to protect me from the elements.  My brother, being a natural born New Englander, was  bit more rugged and pragmatic, deciding he needed a real, thick, warm, heavy coat that would protect him from the nasty combinations of snow, ice, rain, freezing rain, sleet, and bone chilling wind he decided he can live with.

As all good New Englanders do, he wanted to head to LL Bean, and we found ourselves on a mission to the outlet shops along the southern coast of Maine, the land of his birth.
