2007: JANUARY - MARCH | It was a contemplative start to the New Year | In the first quarter of the year, all the elements fell into place that would keep me moving the rest of the year: Rio Rita opened
its doors under the watchful eyes of Beerland's Donya and Randall, and soon would become my favorite hangout.
I attended a hipster party that culminated in a drunk bike ride home with the Really White Vigilante in my mind. |

JANUARY
The year started off in a reflective mood, wondering just what was happening with my art and life, and the city around me. I created an image of 'New Austin', which was made into a local cable news story, and all the pieces were in place for my big writing project to take hold.

FEBRUARY
I purchased a car, a reliable vehicle that got me out of my three year rut riding buses. Rio Rita opened, and I soon became a regular. With its blend of a friendly staff, incredible owners, and a calm, soothing atmosphere tinged with a hint of debauchery, I soon found myself in love. I also created the Really White Vigilante character and found myself on a mission.

MARCH
I spent a week in Kerrville as the token white guy painting a mural with my great friends Marty and Charles. Between hard days of work and late nights laughing, it was one of the best weeks of the year. I came back in town to catch the entire SXSW debacle and kept finding more fodder for my comic book.
