2007: JULY - SEPTEMBER | The crowds at Radical Nautical kept coming and coming and coming... | The fruits of my labors started to peak out in the third quarter of the year. After an energetic opening with Ian Shults and
Dan Morrison at Bolm Studios, Ian and I put together the Radical Nautical show at Gallery Lombardi that opened to the biggest crowds Austin's art scene has seen. While the art world churned, I kept working on my own comic book project, with my friends beginning to tire of my obsession while others sat back and began to think that it all actually may really become a reality. |

JULY
Ian, Dan and I opened our show on a steamy July night, and a great crowd came out that would be a harbinger of good things for all of us through the rest of the year. I continued to work on the storyboards for the book, accidentally tossing out the first two and a half chapters while cleaning out my car.

AUGUST
Radical Nautical took sail at Gallery Lombardi. While the event was organized by Ian and myself, it took on a life of its own as 70 artists showed sea themed work and a gigantic party unfurled the opening night. I plugged away on the comic, preparing for one big push to finish it all up. |

SEPTEMBER
For the entire month, I slept about 14 hours and ate 6 meals a week. I drew, inked and added text to 62 pages of the comic book and missed my self imposed deadline by three miniscule days, but the result was the same: The Really White Vigilante comic book was a reality and I survived to tell the tale. |
