TO ALL THE FILMS I'VE SEEN BEFORE...
	May, 2007- A few weeks ago, partially out of equal parts boredom and morbid curiosity spurned on by some friends, I started to make a list of every movie I've ever seen. The list was my response to the constant nagging and surprise from all my friends when I'd shake my head 'No' when asked if I saw some culturally significant motion picture like Sixteen Candles or some Clint Eastwood movie.

I've never been one to really enjoy movies, and as I've grown older, I've grown away from the joy and revelation I experienced when I saw Darth Vader walk through the cloud of smoke when I was two and a half years old. Now I can barely sit still for two hours and suspend my disbelief and thoughts to just sit back and mindlessly wallow in some popcorn movie.

I steadily worked on the list for a couple days, and I was bombarded by all of my studiomates listing off movies to help me out. Shea, Jana, Meg, Michael, Kollin and Garry all provided invaluable input to this list, even though 92% of their suggestions never ended up on the list. I don't know why Fletch was the first movie I wrote down, but it makes for some pretty surreal reading with some segments making perfect sense (all the Star Wars, followed by Spaceballs) to some jerky logic (Logan's Run, Cannonball Run, Con Air). Just days after writing down around 400 movies, the main impetus for the list, my friend Rachelle, started her own list and topped 1500 in a day, and plowed through another 400 movies the next day, barely breaking a sweat.
