After months of a bored, uninspired ennui, I finally found a gear to start to get some work done in studio. Lots of sketching, plotting and writing are leading up to a big year end finish.

Kansas City’s First Friday – March 1 2019
A show of recent paintings and drawings from Michael Schliefke will open on March 1, 2019 during Kansas City’s monthly First Friday event. The show will feature work from the past three years, with work from his boxing series, matadors, and rodeo clowns.

December ’18 Studio Update
December is a hard month to stay focused on work. With holidays looming, end of the year bills piling up, and projects yearning for closure, December is a test to see just how much work you can finish. So I worked on paintings, printmaking and an unexpected project: a kids mural.
