I went to school with some amazingly talented artists when I attended the Kansas City Art Institute in the mid-nineties, when the school was at the top of its game. From a top notch staff of professors to illustrators like Nathan Fox, Jim Mahfood and Paul Briggs to a ton of collected and working artists strewn about the nation, I was lucky enough to become a close friend of one of Kansas City’s most talented scenic painter, Gen Agers Goering.
Check out her work on her newly published website, GenGWorks. It’s loaded with pictures of the backdrops and scenic painting she has produced as the Charge Artist for the American Heartland Theater the Lyric Opera of Kansas City. Her work is seen regularly at Kansas City’s Kauffman Center as well as touring shows across the country. In addition to the scenic painting, Gen is a talented sculptor and also has produced a series of Halloween costumes for her children that annually prove she is one of the finest costumers in the country. She also takes on commissioned painting in her spare time and has produced work for various published books as well.
Take some time and take a look at Gen’s amazing work!
